xpppon
------

xpppon is a tiny GUI front-end to the ppp-on and ppp-off shell scripts
used to initiate and close ppp connections on Linux systems. It does
not alter these scripts in any way.

By default, xpppon opens /var/log/messages to allow the user to watch
chat and pppd while they dial-up, log-in, and establish the ppp
connection. If you have configured your system to send messages
elsewhere, you need to pass the fully qualified name of the log file
as a command line argument.

xpppon does not automatically invoke ppp-on at startup, nor does it
invoke ppp-off when you exit. You can safely exit xpppon, and restart
it later to disconnnect from your ISP, if you want to.

xpppon is distributed in source form, and requires the EZ Widget and
Graphics library be installed on your system in order to compile. You
may get EZWGL here:

http://www.ma.utexas.edu/~mzou/EZWGL

To compile xpppon, upack the tarfile, enter the source directory and
type "make install".

xpppon is distributed under the GNU General Public license. See the
file COPYING, for details.
